Christmas Tree Lighting in Lincoln, NE
Wrapping an outdoor tree is a different job from lighting a roofline, and it is priced differently — per tree, by height, and by how much of the tree you want lit. From $100 for a trunk to $1,600 for a fully wrapped 30-footer.
How much does it cost to have a tree wrapped in Christmas lights?
Outdoor tree lighting in Lincoln, Nebraska is priced per tree, by height and by how much of the tree is lit. A 10 foot tree is $100 to $150 trunk-only or $350 to $500 fully wrapped. A 20 foot tree is $175 to $250 or $650 to $950. A 30 foot tree is $250 to $350 or $1,100 to $1,600. Trees over 30 feet need a lift and are quoted individually.
Trunk only, or the whole tree
Trunk only wraps the main trunk and leaves the canopy dark. It reads as a column of light, it suits a row of trees along a drive, and it is the cheaper option by a long way.
Full tree takes the lights up through the trunk and out along the branches. It is what people picture when they imagine a lit tree, and on a mature evergreen it is a genuinely large amount of light and a genuinely large amount of labour — which is why the gap between the two prices is as wide as it is.
A full wrap carries light up the trunk and out along the branches. Trunk only stops at the first fork, costs roughly a third as much, and still reads from the street.
Tree pricing by height
| Tree height | Trunk only | Full tree |
|---|---|---|
| About 10 feet | $100 – $150 | $350 – $500 |
| About 20 feet | $175 – $250 | $650 – $950 |
| About 30 feet | $250 – $350 | $1,100 – $1,600 |
Multiply by the number of trees — two matching 20 ft trees wrapped fully is $1,300 to $1,900. Trees over 30 feet need a lift and are quoted individually, as are mixed-height groups.
Why we ask for photos
Height is only half of it. Two 20 foot trees can take wildly different amounts of light depending on how wide they are, how dense the branching is and how thick the trunk runs — a narrow ornamental and a broad blue spruce are not the same job.
A couple of photos from your phone, texted to (402) 318-1634, usually settle it without a second visit. That is the fastest route to a firm number on tree work.
What is included
The same as the roofline work: commercial-grade lights, the install, maintenance for as long as the display is up, takedown in January and storage of the fixtures until next season. The lights stay ours.
Tree wrapping is usually booked alongside a house install, and the estimator will price both together and give you one combined figure.
Common questions
How much does tree lighting cost per tree?
From $100 to $150 for the trunk of a 10 foot tree, up to $1,100 to $1,600 for a fully wrapped 30 foot tree. Multiply by the number of trees — two matching 20 foot trees wrapped fully is $1,300 to $1,900.
What is the difference between trunk-only and full-tree wrapping?
Trunk-only wraps the main trunk and leaves the canopy dark, reading as a column of light. Full-tree takes the lights up the trunk and out along the branches. Full-tree uses far more light and far more labour, which is why it costs roughly three to four times as much.
Do you need photos to quote tree lighting?
Photos settle it fastest. Height is only half the question — width, branch density and trunk thickness change the amount of light a tree takes, so a narrow ornamental and a broad spruce of the same height are different jobs. A couple of phone photos texted to (402) 318-1634 usually produce a firm number without a second visit.
Is takedown included with tree lighting?
Yes. As with roofline work, the quote covers the lights, installation, in-season maintenance, January takedown and off-season storage. The fixtures stay the property of Capital Shine Lighting.
